News from Krakatoa,

Ever since the big volcanic explosion in 1883, Krakatoa has taken a while to re-devolop its cities and bars and red light district. In other words, life here can get pretty boring, with little to do but open our windows and watch the magma flowing to the sea.

Things got a little better since FedEx started dropping packages in the early 80s. In these packages, I have received large quantities of Brazilian Music, from the traditional Bossa Nova to incredibly talented contemporary musicians. I have decided that, since the volcano on the Island is still active and a new eruption is imminent, other people should have access to this collection before it is too late and all my music ends up in ashes (literally in my case).

This site has no commercial interest whatsoever, we only wish to disseminate great quality music to a broader audience outside our tiny Island.

Please enjoy responsibly :)

News From Krakatoa

Dear Friends,

As you might have noticed we have been absent the last two weeks with no new postings. Allow me to explain this mysterious disappearance: supposedly, a change in the magnetic field of the Island has confused the GPS of the FedEx airplane that delivers our monthly order of CD's and the drop ended up landing miles from the usual site. In despair, I had to set up an emergency expedition to the other side of the Island to retrieve some very important pieces of our collection. I won't bother you all with the horrible perils of the journey, or the fact that I almost lost a nail, but I did make it back alive. Exausted, in incredible pain on my little pinky, but alive nontheless.

I am sorry for being absent, I missed our daily posting. Thank you for all the emails of concern. I am looking forward to continuing to provide this music that inspires so many of us. Starting this Monday, I promise, we will be back on schedule.

Regards from Krakatoa,

Z. from Krakatoa
